Re: Suggestion: Add left/right margin using external file or internal table

Hi Simon,

The illustrative example was highly specific yet I feel sure that the same concept could be very useful in other contexts.

What's new? still displays TextPipe v11.6

I just downloaded TextPipe v11.7

Then I clicked the link to http://www.datamystic.com/textpipe/whatsnew.html
only to discover that it still shows only what's new in v11.6

This needs to be fixed.

Re: Word documents to text / RTF

NB. The Help page for the Input filter needs to be updated to include "OpenOffice ODS, ODT, ODP" files. If you can process within ZIP files, it's also worth asking if TextPipe could be enhanced to process within .7z files? See https://www.7-zip.org/ and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7-Zip ...

Word documents to text / RTF

The help for these two filters refers to .DOC files only, and not to .DOCX files. Word documents to RTF Word documents to text Yet the help for Input filter includes: Process inside compressed files (ZIP, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX) This option allows TextPipe to process the compressed files inside a .ZIP,...

Re: Broken ribbon menu starting from 11.5

My current workaround is to keep the ribbon minimised.

That seems to work satisfactorily and hides the annoyance caused by seeing a blank ribbon.

What we need to know is whether the issue is unique to Windows 7 or also happens in Windows 10 & Windows 8.2?

Re: Broken ribbon menu starting from 11.5

Simon replied on 2020-05-11 as follows: Sorry, Windows 7 is EOL. Happy to investigate if it happens under Windows 10. My reply to that was: I’m quite aware that Win7 is EOL. With the lockdown continuing, it may be some time before I buy a new PC. My Toshiba laptop is 10 years old. It’s not worth try...

Re: Broken ribbon menu starting from 11.5

I reported this by email to Simon on 2020-05-08. Hi Simon, Today whenever I first launch TextPipe, the ribbon at first displays blank. See https://www.dropbox.com/s/oindrpg9g0rjuw6/Screenshot%202020-05-08%2012.02.46.png?dl=0 If I resize the Window (or switch apps & back), it returns to normal. N...

Errors in help pages related to Field Specification

Several help pages related to Field Specification have errors: "end of line" where it should be "end of file" "end of line" where it should be "end line" More imortant, the following line/field specification actually gives a TextPipe error! -1..0 That kind of ...

Re: Environment variable @inputPath and accented letters?

Please try it with also the following:

Change extension to .ligatures@inputExtension

That's the trigger!

It's a feature that I use regularly!

I can readily email you stuff if this doesn't help determine root cause.

Re: Environment variable @inputPath and accented letters?

Hi Simon, TextPipe 11.6 still has an issue with other non-ASCII characters in the @inputPath. Input filename KJV.diatheke.plus.psalm.titles.¶.txt was changed to KJV.diatheke.plus.psalm.titles..ligatures.txt where I had the Output Folder as @inputPath\Derived Please review the fix and see if it can ...

Change key dialog has no Cancel button

If you are already licensed user and you inadvertently click the Change key button in Help | About you cannot close the dialog without entering your key. For owners of a valid license there needs to be a Cancel button. i.e. So that you don't have to go through the rigmarole of finding your key again...

New Unicode filters: Convert to/from Unicode character names

It would be of some interest to provide two new Unicode filters:
  • Convert characters to character names
  • Convert character names to characters
Assume UTF-8 as the encoding for both.

Suggested new filter Add line widths

In the Add branch of the Filter library , it could be useful to provide a new filter to Add line widths . Currently, I have to resort to using the Excel™ formula =LEN(B1) to get this type of data. The UI for this filter should include the means to specify Format as under Add line numbers . David
