Is there any significant difference between the filters Truncate to width and Force to width ?
If not, then remove the one that's deemed superfluous.
If there is a significant difference, then why are the Help pages almost identical ?

Suggestion: Provide Unicode to Perl Escape Codes filter
If you have a lot of non-ASCII text that you want to format as the search items in an external replace list file, it would be very useful to be able to prepare that list using TextPipe as the tool. This would require a new filter called Unicode to Perl Escape Codes . Likewise for the replace column,...

Re: Suggestion for a UI improvement
Further to my earlier suggestion: How about also making the Filter library a detachable side-bar ? i.e. Like the side bar in Xiphos - the free Bible study app from xiphos.org (available for Windows & Linux). Allowing the filter library to detach / attach would provide more real estate for workin...

How to make an Interlinear Bible or NT using TextPipe
Assume that you have two (or more) Bible translations in Verse Per Line ( VPL ) format, and you want to make a single file as an Interlinear . Assume the files have the same scope and versification scheme and that no verses are missing. Q. How would you do that using TextPipe? My method currently us...

Suggestion: Add left/right margin using external file or internal table
Here's an idea to consider: A choice could be made in the filter UI to use either an internal table or an external file. An external file would be (e.g.) tab-delimited, just like a replace file. It would work as follows: Column 1 would contain a series of Restrict to line number specifications. Colu...

Re: Suggestion: Provide filter Remove all diacritics
I was mistaken. UCS-2 was an earlier form that preceded UTF-16.
I was confused by Notepad++ having changed menu options from UTF-16 LE to UCS-2.
It may be because it doesn't fully support the former.
Ah well.

Re: Suggestion: Provide filter Remove all diacritics
See also my recent email (sent yesterday) about grouping the Unicode filters that are UTF-16LE only.
Aside: hasn't the official Unicode terrminology for UTF-16LE been changed to UCS-2 BOM ?

Re: Suggestion: Provide filter Remove all diacritics
Will the Remove diacritics filter[s] handle UTF-8 or is it limited to UTF-16 LE only ? Several Unicode filters can only handle UTF-16 LE encoding. Would it be feasible for each of these filters to detect when any other encoding is piped into it and simply stop with an error message? This would avoid...

Unicode tables and properties in PCRE ?
The last line of UTF-8 SUPPORT section in the Help page for Pattern Matching Reference is as follows: PCRE does not support the use of Unicode tables and properties or the Perl escapes \p, \P, and \X. Do the new libraries used in TextPipe 11.x now support Unicode tables and properties ? For examples...

Re: Subtle bug in Convert Numeric HTML/XML Entities to text
Related question, but the other way round... Do any of the new libraries used in TextPipe 11.x support the conversion of Unicode characters to numerical entities ? This would obviate needing to resort to a map . cf. Help for filter Convert Numeric HTML/XML Entities to text includes: To convert plai...

Re: Count duplicate lines filter and non-Roman script
Help for this filter includes: The file need NOT be sorted prior to this filter. That may well be, but the output of using this filter on an input stream with a mixture of Unicode blocks comes out in a very strange order! The output of this filter then needs to be piped into the Sort filter and UTF-...

Restrict filters - new idea
Today it occurred to me that a useful enhancement to TextPipe would take the form of a new filter action in which one could have: Restrict to when variable X is equal to variable Y or Restrict to when variable X is not equal to variable Y This would make use of global variable numbers 1 to 9 defined...

Linux terminology in a Windows app ???
The Common filters part of the Home ribbon has an option labelled Grep.
All Linux users know what this is.
Few Windows only users would be familiar with the term!
You may wish to provide a more suitable label.

Suggestions for a UI improvements
Would it be feasible for the UI to be improved to provide an optional full-window view of the currently selected filter? This would make editing easier for filters. Think how YouTube videos can expand to full-window and back to normal. There's always plenty of room in the grey header bar of a filter...
