When the user attempts to open a filter from the Recent files list, and the file no longer exists for whatever reason,
after the error message, TextPipe then creates a New filter list window.
This isn't what most users might want, though I can understand why this was made the default operation.
Might it be possible to have a user preference such that a new filter is not created after such an open file fail?

Done. It's not a preference - it just shows a warning instead of opening it.
