excel filter

Post by giovanni »

Hi,

you have done a great work with pdf filter!

It will be very useful to have a similar filter for excel file that output all the values contained in the usedrange of all (or any specified) worksheet as formatted text field tab or comma separated . In this way we could read and use excel file without having excel installed and avoiding use of slow and unsafe vbscrip for doing the job.

What is your opinion about this new feature?

Thank you.

Thank you, but if we extract from an Excel file then we will require Excel to be installed anyway, so there would be no great speed or security gain I think.

hi Simon,
I don't agree with you, there are a lot of libraries that manage excel file format directly and probably also excelpipe do that without requiring excel installed.

Ok, we'll have a look into that. ExcelPipe actually requires excel to be installed.
