I installed 9.1 over 9.0 -- should I have uninstalled 9.0 first?

Installing over the top should work fine, however just to be sure, I think it is a good idea to uninstall first in this case.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled 9.1, but I still get the same error.

I also tried running the 9.1 vb.net demo and the 9.1 c# demo, and they both throw an exception on an 0x80040154 error. So it's not strictly VC++ related.

Have you had a chance to test this yet?

Sorry Rex, still feeling lousy here. Am getting minor stuff done, but starting the generator for VS2010 won't get looked at until next week. I apologize.

Hi Simon:

I hate to keep bugging you, but it's been a month now and I'm still not able to use the TextPipe engine. Any chance you can look at this? I'd be happy to do any debugging on my end that you need.

(If it's not going to work, I'd like to know so I can look for another solution.)

Thanks.

Rex

Good afternoon Simon,

Curious if resolution was found on this thread. Reading through it appears I'm encountering the same issue. I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64bit and Visual Studio 2015. The project builds fine, however on execution it produces the following error on this line of code: TextPipeEngine.ApplicationClass tp = new TextPipeEngine.ApplicationClass();

ERROR:

An unhandled exception of type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException' occurred in TextPipeEngineDemo.exe

Additional information: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {55887DBE-5359-4223-9245-2A844433B2BF} failed due to the following error: 80040154.

I'm hoping to build a proof of concept and then wire this into our production process. Please advise on the errors.
