Filewatcher - Odd Question

Post by awolf »

With Filewatcher, using the wait feature.
If a file appears ie "examplefile06300909.log" and
Filewatcher is set to: Seconds to Wait after new file arrives = 5

1. What happens if the file gets deleted by another process before the 5 seconds is up?
2. What happens if another file by the same name arrives? (after the first is deleted, but before the 5 second wait is up)

I know you are asking yourself, "why would one do it like this?" but that's just the way it is....
Thanks!

Hi Andrew,

This is already handled - the deleted file gets removed from the pending changes list before the 5 seconds is up. You don't need 'Delete Notifications' checked for this to occur.

You will see 'Removing file: filename' in the log when this occurs.

The new file of the same name will then be processed normally.
