Need Help with Odd Character Insertion in Text Replacement Function ...

Hi Everyone,
I love TextPipe, but am having problems replacing text with words that include symbols (such as "®" for registered).
When I try to set up a rule such as replace "Program Name" with "TextPipe®", my results are not good - the program ends up placing an added character "Â" before the "®" character, leaving me with this as a result "TextPipe  ®".
Can someone please let me know what I might be doing wrong, and how to get simply the "®" character inserted, without the "Â" character in front of it, in a text replacement scenario.
