I have a couple of big files that I need to count how many lines start with a specified text.
I only need the count, not the output if that is possible. One of the files is 4Gb.
Thank you

Easy. Use a Special Menu\Retain lines\Retain matching lines (grep) filter.
Set the pattern to what you want to count e.g.
^starts_with
Click the option 'Output count of matches'
You'll need to purchase TextPipe to process a file that large.

Thank you very much. I figure out the filter, except for the 'Output Count of Matches' option.
I have a registered version of Texpipe Pro
Thank you again
