x64 replacement for ActiveX script library
TextPipe needs the ActiveX script library to provide VBScript and JScript features.
Here is a replacement that provide this feature under x64:

Re: x64 replacement for ActiveX script library
I just installed this using the setup.exe after extracting the .cab file to a folder.
Now when I tried to do a trial run on the sample VBScript filter, although I no longer see the missing ActiveX error message,
I see a new error message (one that did not occur with the 32 bit version 9.9.5). See below

Best regards,

Yes, we see the same error. More than a little frustrating. x32 works fine, but x64 does not.
No word yet on when this will be fixed.

Re: x64 replacement for ActiveX script library
We removed the check for the existence of various function names, but this x64 replacement is still not working.

Same problem here - installed this, and now get the error msg:
"Missing function - processLine
Note - script language may be case sensitive"

Yes, as above, it does not work under TextPipe x64. It works under x32.

Re: x64 replacement for ActiveX script library
Another month has passed. Any closer to solving this for the x64 edition?
Or should I uninstall x64 and go back to using x32 on my Windows 7 x64 PC ?
Best regards,
David

Re: x64 replacement for ActiveX script library
We can't spend any more time on this until after we upgrade our dev environment. It is a third-party control (Microsoft) and it just does not work as it should.
I recommend reverting to the x32 version for the time being.

Re: x64 replacement for ActiveX script library
Dear Simon,
That being the case, customers should be made aware of this in the DataMystic webpage describing how to install TextPipe.
Customer's that have already installed x64 presumably would need to completely uninstall it before installing x32,
with the latter requiring a conscious change from default to select it from the x64/x32 edition dropdown in the setup program.
I foresee that this will cause considerable inconvenience too for any customers that have gotten used to the x64 edition,
having perhaps never even installed the x32 edition, but who suddenly find a requirement to make use of the script filter.
They will probably not be "happy bunnies".
All of this must almost certainly lead to serious cases of customer dissatisfaction, and could easily reflect poorly on the reputation of DataMystic.
Deciding at this stage "won't fix" now that you've come this far is really quite unacceptable.
Reverting to x32 for owners of 64-bit Windows OS should only be deemed as an interim workaround.
It's not a proper solution. It doesn't reflect best practice delineated in 8-D problem solving methodology.

Re: x64 replacement for ActiveX script library
PS. It's for this reason (along with all the furstrations that have arisen with the GUI changes) that I have come to the view that TextPipe version 10 should have remained much much longer as a Beta evaluation version rather than as a proper release.

Like all companies, we have to prioritise our time. We will address this issue as soon as we are able to.
