Improvements to recent files list...

The MRU files list is currently limited to 10 recently used filters.

However, there's room in the UI pane for almost 20 filter names.

If the UI could be improved to potentially fill up the empty space, it would be a nice improvement.

Currently only the first 9 filters are numbered; the tenth has no number tag.
MRU items beyond 9 should ideally be numbered too.

Related to this, the Preferences dialog includes a numerical spinner to set File history entries.

This is currently set to 5 as default, even though 10 filters are in the MRU.

Moreover, setting it to say 20 doesn't have any effect. Next time you look, it's reverted to 5 again.
