I normally run filewatcher as a service under fire daemon which works great on our windows server 2003. We have upgraded our server and i am running the same install with the same .bat and settings files under windows server standard 2008.
Although the service starts fine from firedaemon, filewatcher itself does not run, and obviously as a result no batch file is triggered.
Is there a problem or patch for windows server 2008? i have tried the install on a second windows server 2008 machine and another 2003 machine...the 2003 machine again worked fine but no joy on the 2008 machine.
Cheers
service not running on windows server 2008

How are you calling it from Fire Daemon? Did you remember:
Code: Select all
filewatcher.exe "/f=c:\my_settings.fwx" /minimize /g

Tips for using FireDaemon
- If you run watch a UNC or mapped drive path, the Firedaemon service has to run under credentials that can access it (ie you must enter a username and password for the service)
- FileWatcher may appear on the 'Admin' or 'Shadow' Console - regardless of whether you are logged in to it or not (login using mstsc /v:servername /admin). Connect to it like this: http://forums.firedaemon.com/accessing- ... -t397.html
- In FireDaemon's service options, ensure Show Window is set to Normal
- Ensure Interact with Desktop is checked
