Hi - I am fairiy new to TextPipe Pro. We have EBCDIC files we are using TextPipe Pro to convert to tab-delimited ASCII files.
I have a file that has various record types (this is field #4 in the tab delimited file). There are different layouts in the copybook that relate to this record type. Essentially I have one input file, with 4 or 5 record types, that I would like to process into separate files.
What is the best way to filter based on the record type column?
Thanks for your help!
Linda

Re: filter based on record type column in file?
Hi Linda,
Please see the attachment for the general approach.
Essentially you create a restriction - one per record type. Inside this you place the copybook for just that record type, and generally, you output the result to a new file for each record type.
