Software bug: Generate output files only if a change occurs
Software bug: Output filter option no longer works as specified.
Generate output files only if a change occurs now generates all files irrespective of whether there has been a change.
This report is for TextPipe Standard version 10.7.2
This option used to work properly.
Best regards,
David

Hi David - please send through your actual filter. If the process is not 1:1 input files to output files then this has no way to honor the request.

Re: Software bug: Generate output files only if a change occurs
Hi Simon,
The input files match the filespec k:\*.usfm
My subst drive k: contains 66 USFM files.
The output path is a different subst drive v:\
This method used to work perfectly fine. It's recently stopped behaving.
Files in which no replacement has occurred are now also being output.
Best regards,
David

Re: Software bug: Generate output files only if a change occurs
Thanks David,
Can you please try and isolate the problem to one of the perl pattern matches, or the replace list? Alternatively, can you please send me a test data file? I will first turn on Prompt On Replace to see if anything triggers.

Hi Simon,
Assuming you received my email of 17 Jan, were you able to make any further progress?
Best regards,
David

Hi David,
We've found and fixed this error.
It was caused by the comments filter not correctly indicating that it did not cause a change. This error only appears when you have comment filters added to the log list under Filter Options.

What's New in TextPipe v10.8 – June 5, 2019
===========================================
===========================================
- Major UI facelift including new Ribbons and Context Ribbons.
- Fixed handling of Convert HTML Entities to Text, and updated HTML 4 DTDs to define 252 named entities.
- Split filter now processes macros after the file numbering has taken place.
- Fixed 'Filter Options\Include Comment Filters in Log' causing all files to appear changed, and preventing the 'Only output changed files' setting from working correctly.
